Standard 4A

Picture
During my nine year teaching career, I have learned that the educational setting and norm of teacher lecture with students taking notes is not the only valid way to teach students in the 21st century. Instruction should be more student-driven and include project based learning. I have explored ways to implement this in my own classroom. When I took the course LLT 521 Technology for the 21st Century Educator, one of my assignments was to create an online WebQuest. This led to the discovery of a great online tool.

This is a perfect example of how we can teach a unit or subject matter and then instead of giving a traditional test, we can give students an opportunity to apply the knowledge they have learned with an interactive and online WebQuest. This allows students to work at their own pace and gives the teacher an opportunity to see what knowledge the students have gleaned from the course presentation.

During this course I created an online WebQuest which I assigned after completing my Constitution Unit.
