Conduct surveys for Parents/Students and Teachers
- Parents:
Virtual Learning Survey
Technology Needs Survey
Provide basis information regarding their child and what technology they have access to outside of school. This will help better prepare the school and teachers to create a successful environment for all students.
- Teachers:
Teacher Feedback Survey
Ask teachers about their experiences with other teachers, the school staff, parents, and students.
Distance Learning Survey
This survey is for school administrators and teachers to evaluate whether their students have access to the right tools, supplies, and structure for distance learning.
Professional Development
1.) Content Focus: When providing technology coaching, concrete examples are key.
2.) Active Learning: Similar to the success teachers have found with students through new pedagogical practices, allowing teachers to actively engage in their own learning can help them retain lessons on using technology to solve classroom challenges.
3.) Sustained Duration: The idea behind this one is relatively simple: Training takes time. K–12 administrators cannot be shown a tool once and expected to become experts overnight.
4.) Collective Participation: Along with learning from trained technology coaches, some of the best sources for educators are other educators.
5.) Coherence: While all four of the previous points are important, the most crucial component is guiding these principles around school-specific goals for outcome improvement.
I want to begin to work more closely with all the staff in building to help resolve any technology issues, as well as run more PDs to help staff who are uncomfortable with new technology. This will help the staff feel comfortable and be able to incorporate more technology in the classrooms. I will also continue to work with the administration (Head of School and Board of Directors) to set up a budget and acquire the technology we need to meet the needs of the teachers as well as all the students.
